As part of Queer History Club we are delighted to welcome Eleanor Medhurst to talk about her new book, Unsuitable: A History of Lesbian Fashion. From Sappho and Suffragettes to t-shirts and TikTok, Unsuitable is a fascinating journey through the culture, politics and social history of lesbian clothing.

Eleanor Medhurst is a historian of lesbian fashion and author of the blog Dressing Dykes. She has almost 100k followers on TikTok, with over 1.7 million likes across her videos exploring the fascinating history of lesbian clothing.

Eleanor will give a talk and Q&A and will also sign copies of Unsuitable which will be available to purchase at the event.

Tickets are on a sliding scale (£5 / £3)

Access Info

The shop has an 8cm step but we have a ramp we can put in place if required.
There is a downstairs bathroom with toilet and hand basin.
There is a range of seating including chairs that are armless with padded seats and backs, armless sofa, bench with cushions.
Face masks are encouraged but not required; an H13 HEPA  air purifier will be in use. 
On street parking available (charges may apply).
