Create Your Own Detective!

From Hercule Poirot to Jessica Fletcher we will discover what makes a great detective. We'll explore identity, agency, motivation and mystery, with plenty of spoken and written exercises, and chances to share our work in pairs or trios. Towards the end we'll do some crafting - as another way to bring our detectives to life. By the end of the workshop we'll have boosted our creativity and confidence, and created our own detectives.

Robert is a novelist and playwright. Their debut murder mystery, A Queer Case, came out in June and introduces queer, amateur sleuth Selby Bigge. Robert's prize-winning play Dumbledore Is So Gay has played at the Southwark Playhouse and Pleasance Theatre, and won a VAULT Festival Origins Award. They take queer, intersectional feminism very seriously and will always do their best to ensure their workshops are inclusive and fun.
