A Short History of Trans Misogyny - Queer History Book Club
'In truth,' Jules Gill-Peterson writes, 'everyone is implicated in and shaped by trans misogyny.'
As Trans Awareness Week brings its usual round of flags and corporate platitudes, let's plot a route to true trans liberation by reading and talking about this slim, powerful queer history book, which exposes the historical origins of the transmisogynistic system in which we all live.
Come along even if you haven't read the whole thing, and we'll learn from each other: understanding how we got our current transphobic worldview is the first step towards burning it down.
Ticket includes tea & biscuits! And, don't forget to grab a copy of the book here (use code QHC for 20% discount)
Date: Thursday 21st November 2024
Time: 7-9pm
Venue: The Bookish Type, 77a Great George Street, LS1 3BR
