Celebrate the launch of Queer Yoga with this author talk about the roots of yoga and how to queer your yoga practice. You'll come away with practical tips for developing a nourishing home yoga practice, an introduction to yoga philosophy, and suggestions for themed practices specific to the LGBTQIA+ community. This event does not include movement. Suitable for both beginners and experienced yogis.

Mookaite Jasper (they/them) is a queer, non-binary writer and yoga teacher. Mookaite, known as Kite, is a member of the Accessible Yoga Ambassador Program with training in accessible yoga, adaptive yoga, yoga for older adults, and yin yoga. Kite now works as a Proud Allies trainer. Their writing about trans and non-binary experiences of yoga classes has appeared in Spectrum magazine. This session does not involve any movement based practices. There will be some introduction to meditation and breathing techniques with optional invitations to participate and make the practice your own.

Access Info

The shop has an 8cm step but we have a ramp we can put in place if required.
There is a downstairs bathroom with toilet and hand basin.
There is a range of seating including chairs that are armless with padded seats and backs, armless sofa, bench with cushions.
Face masks are encouraged but not required; an H13 HEPA air purifier will be in use.
On street parking available (charges may apply).
