This is a discussion-led workshop designed to focus on slow pleasure, with an emphasis on trans individuals. We will break down the distinct but connected concepts of ‘slow’ and ‘pleasure’ to bring them together to explore embodiment from a trans perspective. This discussion aims to account for some of the difficulties that trans people often face around discussions around pleasure. Often discussions around pleasure and embodiment do not touch on how being present or aware of one’s body can be triggering or dysphoria-inducing. This workshop aims to gently explore how these barriers to connecting with one’s self can be acknowledged, expand the ideas of pleasure, and cultivate a nurturing environment where participants can connect with themselves and/or their partner(s)/connections. We’ll create a space with a focus on play, exploration, and pleasure. There are mentions of erotic/sensual topics; however, this is not the focus. The focus is making pleasure a more expansive term. Hopefully, this will be a stepping stone to continue to grow and explore.

Facilitator: Zephyr (they/he) is a Rotterdam-based organizer focused on bringing people together to grow community care through hosting support groups, queer sex education workshops, and monthly potluck dinners.
